I first met Martin Tracy through the auspices of my employer when my nightmare started in September 2011. Martin came up from London to Manchester at short notice and we met to discuss the events of the previous 72 hours. I was in a state of great shock and disbelief as my world had collapsed around me at the time.
From the start, having explained the case to Martin, he was assured of my innocence and made a promise to me. ‘I will walk you down the steps of the court’. It was a phrase that would be repeated many times over the following 2 years, to such an extent that it became a mantra!
Martin had a way of seeing the case for what it was through the complexities and to translate the legal jargon into language that I could understand. At no time throughout the two years of my dealing with Martin did I have any reason to doubt his ability to prepare, advise and re- assure and ultimately, to walk me down the stairs of Manchester Crown Court.
Martin made a terrifying ordeal seem somehow easier to deal with and was always there when I needed to speak with him. He has great patience and an eye for detail. I was fortunate indeed to have him on my side in this case. I could go on, but the litmus test is whether I would recommend Martin and his unique way of dealing with his clients to other people who are embroiled in the Criminal Justice System. The answer is an unequivocal yes, and I am sure he will only become more successful as his career develops.
